Where the Name Comes From
Kavash isn't a reference to a place or a person, it's simply the name given to this particular cut and weight when it was developed — a heavier, oversized counterpart to the Vāyu's lighter drape. Both t-shirts exist in the same range for the same reason a wardrobe needs more than one type of trouser: different weight, different occasion, different feel against the skin in Bali's heat.
The Fabric in Practice
220GSM is genuinely heavy for a t-shirt sold in a tropical climate, and that's deliberate. Most warm-weather tees run lighter to feel cooler, but the Kavash trades a small amount of breathability for structure and durability — it holds its shape through a full day of wear better than a lighter cotton would, and the silver-ion antibacterial treatment offsets some of the heat trade-off by keeping the fabric fresher for longer between washes. It's the shirt to reach for on a day with more activity in it: travel days, a full day out rather than lounging by a pool.
Sizing Notes From the Stores
Because the cut is intentionally oversized with dropped shoulders, most customers end up a size below what they'd normally pick in a fitted tee.
